Below are some examples, from the Google Enterprise website, of organisations that have had great success with deploying Google Enterprise Search:

BA Logo

British Airways - In order to effectively communicate with its 49,000 global, British Airways has had an Intranet in place called the 'Employee Self Service' (ESS) program. However, while the ESS had been receiving 6.5 million page impressions a month and 3,000 searches per day, most employees still didn't know "how/where to find XX". To address this issue, BA selected Google, and has been very pleased with the results. The KeyMatch feature is particularly useful. For example, over 14,000 people a year search for 'safety equipment and procedures' or 'SEP'; KeyMatch ensures these users see the appropriate page at the top of their search results. In summary, a small investment in the Google Search Appliance has helped ensure that the £55M investment in the employee self service program is paying off. For the full case study, click here.

Xerox Logo

Xerox - Global leader in manufacturing and document management solutions. The Xerox Office Group employs more than 1,100, and the group intranet contains thousands of PDF and HTML files, and a smaller number of Microsoft Office files. After deploying the Google Search Appliance, the sales team has been able to spend less time searching - and more time selling. "Since we started using the Google Search Appliance, " says Smith, "the sales force is able to find what they're looking for, and we've stopped receiving complaints." Morgan Stanley Logo

Morgan Stanley - Morgan Stanley, one of the world's leading financial services institutions with 55,000 employees, and 695 locations in 28 countries, was looking for an intranet search solution. Morgan Stanley chose the Google Search Appliance due to its low touch and high value proposition. The results: users like the search, IT administrators like the 'really low admin', and management likes the fact that the employees can now focus on 'better problems'.

Ziff Logo

Ziff Davis Media - Ziff Davis Media is a leading integrated media company, with publications including PC Magazine and eWeek, and its web sites attracting 11-12 million unique visitors per month. For their website search, they chose the Google Search Appliance and have been very pleased with the results. "We've made a marked leap forward with the Google Search Appliance by bringing the more relevant content to the forefront," says Young Further, "once you have the Google Search Appliance, it requires little - if any - human intervention." Kimberly Clark Logo

Kimberly Clark - Kimberly-Clark Corporation manufactures and markets a range of health and hygiene products in over 80 countries (their brands include Kleenex, Scott and Huggies). In order to better manage their internal information, Kimberly Clark deployed the Google Search Appliance across enterprise-wide internal content, includeing the company's intranet, databases and file servers. After evaluating other options, they chose Google because of its superior search results, unified search and desktop search capabilities. For the full case study, click here.
